THE toadies of Andrés López López, Ed Planeta Mexicana, SA de CV. Seventh reprinting, CANCUN Mexico 2009
The statement is made by Andres Lopez Lopez, Colombian exnarcotraficante, currently being held in Miami, Florida was decided to write it considered important to show how it handles the dark world of narcotics, especially the Colombian cartels, their relationships other and with the Mexican cartels and other parts of the world. Is a mea culpa with which Lopez claimed otherwise seeks to society, to which he himself admits, caused so much damage.
The period covered by his narrative ranges from the early 70's, when a Colombian smuggler cigarettes and liquor Cachaco Ramon discovers that a whitish powdery substance that began to be mentioned much and was called cocaine, left many more profit than the products that the driving. Like him, other illegal traders of various courses of Colombia began to turn his attention to the substance from Bolivia and other places further south.
The power of these people with money in abundance, he felt confident enough to challenge head-on the Colombian government and thus arises the first offense, from which officially begins the story of Colombian drug trafficking, of cartels. This was the murder In April 1984 the Minister of Justice, Rodrigo Lara Bonilla, riddled as the main enemy of the nascent smuggling of coca. Pablo Escobar ordered to end the life of the officer, because he was determined that the laws will not apply to him.
The book chronicles the life of different cartels, but the main element of what the author tells us, is called "crossover." It is called so when a drug dealer talks with Colombian and U.S. authorities, so that in return for giving them information on drug operations, is acquitted and allowed to reside in the U.S. and retain some of the money they earned in their illicit activities.
But there is a but, the "crossover" is actually quite limited, beyond its true size, grows into a myth, a fantasy, and many drug dealers fall into it, naively believing that the U.S. judicial system would forgive , which happens rarely.
In creating this myth of American lawyers contribute as much as Colombian and U.S. officials who play a double play, that is, start having relations with drug traffickers in order to meet anti-cartel operations and thus are gradually deciphering as operating cartels. These American and Colombian officials are able to wrap drug traffickers to the myth of "crossover" and so many of these begin to provide information to the authorities, they become "snitches."
The book's title comes toadies in the same way the Colombian traffickers called those who betray the guild, the "toads" are those who become informants and eagerly looking to take the leap of criminal life social life somewhere in Miami. Therefore the central elements of the Colombian narco become the "crossover" made by "snitches."
When this arises, it begins to be a real headache among criminal groups, therefore mistrust begins to erode its operation and any questionable action becomes riddled reason to appear anywhere in the jungle or a city in Colombia.
It tells how the world of Colombian narco consists of treachery, deceit, false loyalties, murders and all kinds of manipulations that are able to start generating their own wars between cartels, which began to plunge the Colombian life in an environment of deaths everywhere. Women also have a role in all this, because many of the conflicts generated by the fight between a female or by the intrigues and betrayals perpetrated by a girlfriend, lover or wife of a top drug trafficker.
A Despite all this, the quick profits that provide access to beautiful women, new cars, travel and abundant life in luxury, they are very appealing to Colombians who have no other options for development, so quickly integrate real armies under the command of cartel leaders.
Part of the book's central story revolves around the North Valley Cartel, which the author was a member. Tells us how it was the most powerful group in Colombia, however, was unknown to the authorities. For years they did not know of its existence, allowing him to work freely and gain control over most of the cocaine trade from South America to Mexico and the United States. For a long time both the DEA and the Colombian government concentrated on known drug cartels of Medellin, Cali and others, the first founded by Pablo Escobar. These were his goals, believing they were the only cartel in power did not know was out there a cartel formed by several heads working in coordination.
This ignorance by the DEA and other government agencies, led to focus on fighting the cartels is mentioned, while tens of tons of cocaine were taken to the American Union from the coast in the Pacific and the Atlantic. The rider of the Caribbean and the Pacific coast of Mexico were the preferred routes of this cartel and while the authorities pursued the other groups, this was increasingly growing.
But everything comes to an end. Various betrayals by internal conflict, began to "toads" belonging to the cartel began to inform the authorities that there was a cartel and was unaware of the most powerful in the world, the North Valley.
Various meetings between "frogs" and authorities took place in hotels in Panama as the Marriott and others. There are people in the DEA met with drug dealers go for information and agreeing to the terms of their performance, and subsequently relaxed living somewhere in South Florida.
When a drug was no other choice because of his feuds with other heads of cartels, began to envision the possibility of spending the other side, run the mythical "crossover." For this, we made several preparatory meetings, various groups involved the DEA, Colombian authorities, undercover agents, lawyers, etc.. A whole world about the next delivery of an item of drug trafficking. The DEA is primarily interested in knowing if the information could give the "toad" was good or fair or poor. They had to find the position of "frog" in the criminal group to see if they really had access to good information or was merely a foot soldier in the cartel.
The investigations carried out Americans and Colombians who took months, for operating cartels so tight, so many times when he got a "frog" to surrender, they did not know whether it was worthwhile or not, if the information they would was given first class or not. Hard data expected by the DEA were the names of the chiefs, dates of upcoming shipments, properties, routes, contacts with Mexican drug trafficker, form of transportation, human elements in charge, buying more weapons, hiding places of dollars, etc..
If the "frog" could give data supporting on these issues, then it began to spoil, but it meant to be saved from spending several years in a U.S. prison, but that did not know the "frog", made him believe that would be an amnesty but then eventually gave that no American court was going to forgive. But the myth of "crossover" went on and on, mainly due to one or two drug traffickers who had won the exchange with the U.S. authorities, he talked to his fellow drug dealers in business, it was very easy, so readily believe it and so would generate more "snitches." The author calls
a false version of the "crossover" as "light" version. It's the ending in prison handed down in a federal court in New York or Florida, by a judge or judge sentencing impassive without hesitation. Thus, the large catches begin the new millennium, mainly from the late 90's and in 2000 significant head start to fall.
The author explains in great detail how they conspire with each other, how they organize ambushes, assassinations, killings, as alleged deceptive conciliation meetings and there are massacred. Nothing new under the sun but always remove that bloody read so that they are charged debts and insults between cartels. Torture, whether family or friends, wives and lovers, often they are passed to the side murderer in order to save life and ensure their ostentatious life.
Customs between cartels that all properties of leader who has been murdered, become the property of ordering his murder, and many properties like house, ranches, land, cars, money, and pass the accounts of murderers and most of his boss. It is the spoils of war.
Eventually, drug traffickers as Wilberth Varela, Diego Leon Montoya, Fernando Henao, Varela and other nicknames such as "the lollipop", "scratch" "Don Berna" and others were falling slowly, some killed by bullets from a betrayal, an element of his who decided to change the cartel or a candidate for "crossover."
However, as we all know, the drug has no end, while there are customers who purchase the product, there will always be sellers. The story shows how fragmented to disintegrate the world's most powerful cartel, the Norte del Valle, but soon his place was taken by another group located somewhere in the Colombian jungle.

ELECTIONS 2010 by Jorge González Cano
It seems that in Cancún could repeat the situation that occurred in 1999, but opposite direction. So dear reader, in that year was elected as mayor the candidate of the PRI, Magaly Achach and differential voting gave local deputies the seats as candidates of the PRD, the PRI Mayor, Provincial for the PRD.
now in this turbulent 2010 could go on to win the Mayor Julian Ricalde, candidate of the alliance PAN-PRD-PT-Convergencia and three of the four councils would be for the candidates of the PRI-PVEM alliance-HONEYCOMB. While this election is like playing craps, you can quit anything, but then our considerations. Julian
Ricalde, PRD faithful to their colors, who has held various positions in his political party, to the state leader, the winner may be mainly due to the electoral weight of the alliance that leads as Lupita Novelo, the candidate of the other alliance, has made his political career as a member of the teachers, some of the contributions are handled in the tricolor, but has not played a significant role in local politics, although he has served as Councillor and Member of Local, friendly, good deal, but lacks the character necessary to lead the government of Cancun, largest city in Quintana Roo. Returning to Ricalde, perhaps the only thing you can claim is to have been part of the disastrous government of Juan Ignacio Garcia Zalvidea, "Chacho" as Director of Government, but as professional politicians say "something there to eat."
In terms of the local councils, the partnership we have blue-yellow-red-orange, in the district X Yolanda Garmendia, active PAN few years, who has held the federal council from 2006 to 2009, managed to win that nestled in the campaign of Felipe Calderón to the presidency and with just enough votes to make it the way the PRD Latife Muza. Recall that the local election was resolved in the legal and electoral bodies. The Garmendia had no role in the Congress, however, has snuck back as a candidate a local council, and in 2002 also was nominated for a local representative for the Municipality of Benito Juarez, but in that year the PAN only reached third place, thanks to a terrible campaign, run by Venezuelans were unaware cancunense environment and a mayoral candidate clean but inexperienced. Racing Garmendia, the candidate of the PRI-PVEM alliance-HONEYCOMB, someone known only in the areas inside the PRI, Paul Carrillo, who has held side, now released by the council.
So on the one hand we have the Garmendia, experienced but regular performance, we might almost say that do not know what to do with the posts achieved, except to collect the lucrative salaries, and on the other hand Carrillo, young, made in the style PRI no sign outside his party. Logic tells us that in this district should be given the benefit of the doubt to the candidate of the PRI-PVEM-HONEYCOMB.
XI in the district have to Alejandro Luna, son of Greg Sanchez, candidate for governor in doubt. Luna, sportsman, who was in charge of the Sports Council, a body that is being investigated for alleged diversion of resources is the proposal for the alliance PAN-PRD-PT-Convergencia. With the current state of Greg, who has been rejected as a candidate by the Electoral Institute of Quintana Roo, but who does not abandon the PRD, his son might be favored with the vote for its relationship with Greg. Although they put in front of an old sea dog, Carlos Cardin, former mayor of Cancun, a person of diplomatic intercourse, astute politician, who was also a local deputy, federal deputy director of FONATUR, among other charges and who calls himself as "living legend."
In this case we have for one side to the Moon and the other to Cardin, both with strong ties to whom the postulates, Luna Cardín Greg Sanchez and the PRI. Play here, as elsewhere in the choice of Quintana Roo, an important factor of public perception. That is, if the electorate perceives that the arrest of Greg Sanchez is a political maneuver of the PRI in cahoots with the Attorney General's Office to take the contest to Greg, then there may be voted out to the PRI, but if the public perception that Greg truly believes committed the embezzlement, then the punishment will vote for the PRD and its candidate, but as stated earlier, in Cancun could be the vote differential. To date, the published polls show that most do believe that Greg Quintana Roo fell into mismanagement of public resources, as though he had start by favoring the drug charges, the most serious charges are those of illicit enrichment.
As should be expected as you move the public perception in the coming days before July 4. In such a way that talking about political clout, experience, expertise and knowledge, XI victory in the district should be for Cardin.
XII in the district have to Jessica Chavez, young PAN and José de la Peña, a member of PVEM, son of Benjamin of the rock Notary, who is said to have been representative of CISEN in the early years of Quintana Roo. Jessica, a young woman with history "light" in his party, who has had the greatest merit to be favored by the local PAN leaders, Councillor and Jose de la Peña, an attorney, also young and alderman. Here is a contest among young people. Both of recent experience in politics, but with no distinctive features or outstanding, both with little speaking and leadership. With all due respect, in this district voters can throw a "high".
District XIII. Here are facing an extreme PRD, Ricardo Velasco, whom his party finally given the chance. Someone who has persevered in the ranks of the Aztec sun and who now can show their talents to a campaign. Crushed stone has been years in the PRD, disciplined, simple, good natured, Velasco deserves the opportunity to serve the people of Quintana Roo. On the other hand, the alliance led by the PRI, we have a whole tumbler of those who go from game to game, lack of political definition and seeking only the "bone", Baltasar Tuyub, former PAN member PVEM then and now the comb. Too bad, because in the beginning we saw him Baltasar good intentions, the road has become just another politician, someone who goes unnoticed and only use political office for personal career. Logic and reasoned vote should give the victory to Velasco.
On the side of the multi-member councils, the PAN to see more of the same, Garmendia, Patricia Sanchez, who is already a masterpiece jump to "bone" to "bone" and Rogelio Marquez, the perennial candidate and who now lacks the strength, vigor and credibility that accompanied him back in 1995, when he was candidate for mayor of Cancun.
For the PRI do not see new faces, will Abuxapqui, former mayor of Chetumal who arrives first. In the PRD leads the Meckler, who has always been a dark character, the kind that go behind the scenes, with little work in the Bureau of Citizenship cancunense, also involved in the bickering of the municipal government's mismanagement of Greg . The Pluris of the other party, Convergencia and PT PANAL with unfamiliar people. So in terms of multi-member councils, those which will seat without having sweaty, all parties have the same profile, people with much or little experience, but anyone with a bright profile, outstanding or distinguished, representing a real fighter in the local Congress.
It seems that in Cancún could repeat the situation that occurred in 1999, but opposite direction. THE NARCO: FAILED WAR Ruben Aguilar and Jorge Castañeda. Meeting Point and Ed Santillana Ediciones Generales, SA de CV, 2nd ed. Edition, Mexico 2010. COMPLETE SUMMARY.
This book manages three fundamental premises, contrary to what is currently managing the Mexican government:
1 .- The drug has remained stable in the United States over the past 50 years, as in Mexico and sometimes decreases has also been seen that it is not possible eradication of the American population, since the legal framework cultural and northern neighbor, give freedom to its inhabitants, as well as the freedom to own guns. It's a cultural issue, so that the U.S. government will not engage heavily in attacking consumption. 2 .-
consumption and drug trafficking must be addressed by the government as a public health issue and not public safety, as well as the United States and provides us a desire for positive results for Mexico, we must approach it the same way;
3 .- Experience in other countries and even in Mexico itself demonstrates that collateral damage must attack the consequences. Attacking the use and trafficking is idle, because none of these activities have increased significantly in Mexico, and we are one of the countries worldwide, with less drug use, so that these objectives should not be attacked, however, we must focus on reducing the number of crimes caused by conflict between cartels and between them and the police or the army, as it has greatly increased deaths in our country without being reflected in this effort traffic.
The authors conducted several investigations based on reports from international agencies, dedicated to study the consumption and sale of drugs and narcotics. Based on these investigations we have different hard data during the writing, demonstrating that the approach will be managed by Felipe Calderón, the only achievements which will be the increase in violence, a generalization of this and an extension of the collateral damage, but it will not reduce consumption or or traffic. Felipe Calderón
supports its "war on drugs" as he himself has called in 5 arguments, that throughout the book, the authors will analyze, came to the conclusion of the 5 arguments set by the Mexican government to attack drug trafficking are groundless and truthfulness and therefore, government actions are doomed to failure objectives, but even worse, increase the violence in the country, extending not only to criminals and the authorities, but also by introducing a civil society in this maelstrom violent, causing unnecessary deaths and injuries.
Top 5 Mexican executive's arguments are:
1 .- The drugs are coming to your children;
2 .- The drug violence has increased
3 .- The penetration of the drug in high government
4 .- The flow of arms from the U.S. to Mexico
5 .- Act as did the Colombian government
These arguments will be false or half truths once it concludes reading the book. The most important conclusion to be reached is that this drug war is a political strategy of Felipe Calderón, to seek legitimacy to his government after the opposition expressed dissatisfaction that the electoral process of 2006.
That conclusion is something really frightening, as it tells us that more than 20,000 deaths that have occurred in Mexico on the drug war, the rise of widespread violence, the damage suffered by Mexico's image at international budgetary spending and other consequences are due to a political strategy, not a real official concern for the drug consumption and trafficking. This poses a scenario in which we are really vulnerable citizens, located between two fires, fires fanned by the Mexican government itself, from one side of organized crime and other authorities who are only seeking legitimacy and citizenship among helpless.
Mexico remains the way to reach the United States, has not become a consumer country, as we are to believe the authorities. This is demonstrated by research conducted by the government, through agencies such as the National Council Against Addictions (CONADIC) of the Ministry of Health.
Increased drug use has Mexico has been in proportion to the growth of its middle class, that is, in relative terms has remained stable since, as the authors say, since 1995, middle-class families moved from 6 million to 12 million in 2009 and in the same proportion that consumption is increased, ie the increase in the purchasing power of the middle class was reflected in consumption, so there was an increase in absolute terms, not in relative terms. Mexico remains a country of low consumption. The UN estimates an average worldwide prevalence of 4.2% in drug consumption in Mexico is 1.3%, ie well below the international average, so the argument of increased consumption or drugs that are coming to youth, is false.
In addition, drug prices in Mexico are so low, it is not business markets in our country. The WORLD DRUG REPORT 2009 of the UNITED NATIONS OFFICE ON DRUGS AND CRIME, shows that prices have been steadily declining.
official discourse constantly resorts to the argument that anti-drug task is enormous because previous governments act casually. Each had its six-year strategy to combat drugs, was never a war, and there was never actual levels of violence. From Echeverría with Operation Condor, each president has established public policy on drugs, have been strong or not so, there is no evidence that any of them have had tacit or explicit agreements with drug traffickers. In addition to that were other times and other levels of marketing, but consumption levels have been decreasing until 2006, as violence, but the latter suffers a sharp rise from 2006.
Citizens feel less safe now than before, despite that, until 2009, national surveys showed that people's main concern is the economic and security then, which tells us that the government is responding to citizen demands, but only their own strategies. So there is a disparity between what people need and the stubbornness of Calderón. For some time
spheres of government have been infiltrated by organized crime, as now, is not new, however, violence was not the levels now, so it's worth asking: Does the increase infiltration is proportional to the cost of the drug war? or put another way, are we having some decline in infiltration of drug trafficking in the government because so many deaths and economic costs of war?.
Another argument put forward to is always the fault of U.S. which are infiltrating weapons into Mexico. Official Reports (CISEN) show that only 20% of weapons into Mexico, legally or illegally, from the northern neighbor. Thus we see that while violent northern border area in the country, with more deaths daily, the weapons are entering Mexico by coasts, southern border, clandestine airstrips, ports and others. For this reason, does not justify how places like Ciudad Juarez have been violated because of the war being waged in those places. In such a way that the "sealing" of the northern border has been a huge mistake because there are not entering for weapons and has scorned the proposal that there some time ago, that where you should apply the "seal" is on the Isthmus of Tehuantepec and not on the northern border, which has greatly affected the tourism and trade between both countries.
Thus, the "sealing" should be applied in the south of the country and not let the drug circulates throughout the country and just before going to America, then assemble the war. This has proven very expensive for Mexico and also highly inefficient. By making the cost-benefit analysis, we see Calderon's war is poorly implemented, which has hurt Mexico.
The legalization of drugs already done in other countries shows that consumption itself is not increased and conversely, the lower drug prices, which also reduces violence between cartels. Although the cultural level in Mexico there is no support for legalization, it should be analyzed thoroughly without demonizing, as legalized in some way, would cause a decrease in traffic and violence.
Finally, the struggle, not war, should focus on reducing collateral damage, ie the effect on society. In reducing executions, beheadings, kidnappings, shootings, bombings and others. We have seen that consumption is something we must learn to live together, so they must address the consequences that brings the consumption and trafficking of drugs.
Colombia did so and managed to significantly reduce violence, but not the hectares of crops, which have increased, however, calm now reigns in Colombian territorial extensions increasing.
This book manages three fundamental premises, contrary to what is currently managing the Mexican government:

Elementary School Daily Behavior Report
The recent arrest of Greg Sanchez, is an issue that has many angles. If you dear reader will permit me, I will expose.
Detention in the process cancunense former mayor election is not a minor thing. If as stated by the spokesman for the PGR, had several months investigating his possible links to organized crime, narco read, so why they decided grasp just two months before the election Quintana Roo?. Perhaps the nation's prosecutors did not intend to eliminate the electoral contender, but did everything for the community to believe it. Now we just have to wait to see if the legal process has been established to locutorgrupero-businessman-politician-preacher, has enough elements to turn the order of imprisonment or otherwise, may be similar to the Mayors Michoacan were rooted and then detained and eventually released months later due to lack of evidence against them. A blunder over the Attorney General's Office.
When Sanchez began in politics back in 2005, all cancunenses wondered where he had left such a character, it was completely unknown to most of the community, except for those who tuned his radio program. With a big waste of money began a vigorous campaign for the Senate by the PRD. Populist-tinged began to make votes, but was finally defeated by the PRI, but this year there was a free rider Sánchez without sweat or get tired achieving the coveted seat in the Senate, José Luis García Zalvidea, who thanks to the votes Greg earned his populist campaign and became the first minority senator.
But Sanchez did not stop in their efforts to reach a political office, without any prior experience in public administration, was one among entrepreneurs that make them easy and incursions policy supported by a political party. This situation has been constantly in the PAN, institution to which members will COPARMEX exerted a special spell, but with the difference that the PAN would-be entrepreneurs do not invest a single penny in campaigns, but they always have under the Espanyol's own shelter and donations they get. And I say would-be entrepreneurs, because when you look at their resumes thoroughly that the only activity is "business" that have taken is to be members of the group employers.
But back to the flamboyant politician, finally gets the Mayor of Cancun by several million dollars he spent on his campaign and populist style that pleases both cancunense community, especially to living in marginalized areas of tourist destination .
Rejected by many for actions like the invasion of Green Navel others Whether you find her attractive to Greg Sanchez, so with these attributes are now set to make an alliance between the PAN and the PRD with a view to the governorship. This alliance finally not given. One of the causes of the failed alliance is possibly the PAN leaders, both locally and nationally, were well informed about the investigation being conducted by the RMP and have been advised of the Mayor's next stop, so this is probably due to the PAN retired to run as its candidate. And this causes a stir in the blue and white total Quintana Roo, as the bid is awarded to Alicia Ricalde, PAN-blooded and Mayor of Isla Mujeres, who at the time of writing, speaking and to waive the party's nomination because the leaders of the PAN in Quintana Roo were not supported, because they wanted to Greg as their candidate.
is not the first time that the entity PAN Caribbean ride as "North", clueless, lost, for despite the news that Greg were around, they insisted it was their candidate and integrated with the PRD, PT and Convergence to achieve the long-awaited opposition alliance to oust the PRI of the governorship. It was in 1993 when the first alliance between PAN and PRD was unsuccessful, had been built to find the Mayor of Cancun with the lawyer known as Fred, who shortly before the election of a candidate withdrew and left the alliance orphan, which The PRI held the Mayor benitojuarense. Since then the alliance was a possibility and he finally appeared in 2010 would achieve the long-awaited dream of PAN and PRD, but lacked the alleged activities Greg Sanchez would take him to the prison in Puente Grande in the state of Nayarit.
As in the novels of Agatha Christie is located to the beneficiary of the crime to him as the main culprit. In Quintana Roo the main beneficiary of the arrest of the speaker is the PRI mayor, since no member of the clan finally Joachinism been nominated, Borge being chosen, so that by staying out of the race Greg, the possibilities increase exponentially that the PRI continues to reign in the Mexican Caribbean, as it has since been born. We do not know
ending Ricalde Alicia issue, if finally achieved the support of their coreligionists or further alone in his campaign or will eventually declined, what we do know, is that pragmatism prevailing in the PAN political party hardly behave institutional Licha give their support, as many know it.
Greg tentacles in the PAN had come to such a degree that had strongly influenced nominate candidates for mayor, precisely because operators have to it in the blue and white. The whole affair is likely to cause more confusion and conflict in the PAN.
But back to Greg, his business in Cancun and Cozumel airports paid off good profits, however, the accusations comprising the Mayor's record is that of illicit enrichment, which surely must answer it or its accountants to certify or not if their capital is fully justifiable. They also accuse him of involvement in drug trafficking in their mode of development and apparent involvement in a homicide. Finally, a number of allegations that lawyers will face Sanchez.
finally PGR If he can prove his allegations and the judicial apparatus and sentence confirms the Mayor, then it will be a closed issue a final decision and will have caught a criminal, but if the Attorney General fails to secure the record and end Greg goes free, the Attorney General of the Republic will probably take the same path as Baz Baz, exProcurador Mexico State, who by his dismal performance in the case was dismissed by Paulette Peña Nieto. So, Mr. Prosecutor, citizens are attentive to this issue.
Finally, the IFE now says that Greg is perfectly eligible as the absence of a ruling on individual political rights is safe. Such situations are something old in the country, is a debate that has its time, there are jurists who hold that view, others not. It is said that while no sentence then you are not guilty and therefore maintain the rights to safety, but as you can be that if one is detained in a precautionary manner. The IFE said that Greg can vote and be voted. If the premise is correct, Quintana Roo may have an elected governor who is imprisoned in a high security prison as the Puente Grande and it is derived in whole legal tangle.
While all this is resolved, it seems that the Mayor of Cancun outside the PRI and seeking the governorship, the stars are against you, remember the case of Chacho, who was also discouraged their plans via a criminal . For the sake of justice in our country, hopefully these issues have been taken to support and legal tidiness and has support for talking about illegal activities legaloides than tactics to eliminate opponents in Quintana Roo tricolor.
Scat Version Of Summertime
IF GREG SANCHEZ QUINTANA ROO: PROPERTY OF PRI OR JOAQUIN COLDWELL?
The April 5, 1981, a young PRI Pedro Joaquin Coldwell, who had by then 30 years old, was elected the second governor of the fledgling state of Quintana Roo, as he had acquired this status in 1974 and ceased to be a Federal Territory.
Peter, despite his young age, already had a good experience in politics, had held the posts of Deputy Local and federal deputy.
Once he finished his duties as head of the executive of the company, Salinas de Gortari became Director and later Secretary FONATUR Tourism. One time he was away from public life, to which he returned as Ambassador to Cuba during the administration of Ernesto Zedillo and is currently a Senator.
Later, her sister, Addy Cecilia, also dabbled in politics, obviously by the PRI, since it was the political party retained control in the state that governs itself Quintana Roo since it exists as such. In 1997, Addy is elected federal deputy in a tight contest against Elba Capuccino going by the PRD, PAN applied for Troy Becerra, Cozumel also like the brothers Joaquín.
Thus, Addy is installed in the Federal Congress, however, his ambitions were already on flower skin was tested for years before the sweetness of victory when he served as Director of DIF in the six years of Peter as governor even when her husband, Edmundo Fernandez, supplied a few months as mayor of Cancun Carlos Cardin, who left City Hall to find a deputation. So being still federal MP, seeking his party's nomination for governor. Mario Villanueva Madrid, governor and someone who was not easily controlled, less for the Joaquin family believes that Addy is not the right candidate and designated as the tricolor flag Joaquin Hendricks Diaz, leaving the deputy on the road.
again in 2000 is ascending the political ladder and gets the name of the PRI candidate for Senator, getting through this again a seat in Congress, now in the Senate. Not satisfied with this and while still a Senator, in 2004 blasts again and again seek to be the bearer of his party's gubernatorial race. For the second time does not receive support and decides to seek new horizons, so start talks with the PAN political party that sought the lamp of Diogenes who championing in the race.
state
The PAN leadership of that time, with a strong pragmatic and stale profile PRI links, do dumbbell easily accomplished with Addy, Senator without ideology defined policy and thus the names their whitish external candidate for governor, because the nominal outside without being a member of the PAN. Campaign gray and economic investment is the recipe for losing an election, so the results are not expected and thus the PAN-Convergence alliance with the head Addy gets third place in the race, reaching just over half of the votes that get Felix Gonzalez, the current governor. The candidate did not inject financial resources to his campaign probably because the poor anticipated results, obtained on a voluntary or involuntary. That only she can clarify.
Following the war, returns Addy his seat in the Senate, but not wishing to run out "chamba" begins to insist that Manuel Espino, national chairman of PAN at the time, so that makes federal Representative and somehow convinces him and that is registered by the plurinominal way, ie no need to campaign, but do not believe you dear reader that sent it to represent the state of Quintana Roo, no, but Oaxaca !!!!. Indeed, as Espino decides to candidates to two expriístas, Addy and Diodoro Carrasco, who was private secretary Ernesto Zedillo and this generates a great unconformity between the PAN, decide which records it Carrasco Quintana Roo and Oaxaca Addy, achieving this Castling the PAN in both states to forget about it. Obviously the state leader of the blue and white did not say a peep, completely subject to the wishes of Espino. Thus
Mrs. Addy has been in Congress for twelve years, six as a federal deputy and six as a Senator and you dear reader, do you remember something that has made relevant by the Quintana Roo? ... I do not.
To date, the Cozumel remains a contributing member of the PAN, as it enjoys since 2006, when it entered the PAN and that maybe it was a requirement put Espino for appearances and to give the federal council without fuss. Anyone can see on the website of this political party, the status of their members. Addy
who remain as adherent, shows little attachment to the PAN, as the active membership is achieved only after six months of joining, ie had more than two years to move to the next phase. This may be due to various reasons, including lack of identification with the doctrine of PAN, the other a possible return to the PRI or its foray into another political party and another, which we consider very viable, family instructions to be maintained in the NAP to if necessary and making it the Trojan Horse in the Espanyol, search again for the nomination in an environment where PRI candidate is from their affinities or of his political group and as he did in 2005, leading a campaign to stop gray to win the PRI, a practice that is not so strange in Quintana Roo.
Addy's presence in the NAP is limited to issues rather social. Lately he has been invited to dinner by some members, obviously awaiting the time to take the "blow" to support it in some of his personal political-family projects. Hopefully, the PAN will not sell their conscience for a breakfast and do not lend themselves to tinkering with Addy.
Thus, we have to Addy in the PAN and the PRI Pedro, which we plan projects a well-defined and organized for Joaquín occupy key positions in politics and become Quintana Roo and the control of the entity.
These arguments are strengthened because we also have on stage with Gustavo Ortega Joaquín, Cozumel former mayor and now a federal deputy, and now also expriísta PAN, Addy and her aunt who aspires to be governor of Quintana Roo, being championed by the blue and white. Another brand new PAN is Don Edmundo Fernandez, Addy's husband and who might seek the nomination for mayor of Cancun, obviously, subject to extended family and that agreement, taking the tip of the pyramid and Nassim Don Pedro, as heads . Also in the PRI have Carlos Joaquin, former mayor of Solidarity and now federal MP, recently appointed Chairman of the Tourism Commission in the Chamber of Deputies.
Dear reader, you're probably thinking that the PRD is left out of this invasion Joaquina, but I'm afraid to disappoint because there is a PRD member who has strong links with the Clan and is the very Mayor of Cancun, the announcer Greg Sanchez, have ties of friendship and trade relations with Gustavo Ortega and Cozumel.
Thus we see how the family is preparing to take Joaquin Quintana Roo in his power. The only variable that could change this scenario is that the PRI candidate for governor appointed Carlos Joaquin and as political institution decide to confront the family. Yes Joachinism alter expectations and have to use their cards in the sol-white or Aztec.
Unfortunately neither the PAN nor the PRD have the structure to stop this invasion, militancy PAN does not have the strong character to face these struggles are discussed daily in internal mini-war where you fight people and not ideas, as well that the figures he has in public office are fair game to be co-opted by the system as has happened to Patricia Sánchez, on the other hand, the PRD of Quintana Roo is very pragmatic, an exchange of positions, some awards here and will be there and orders.
Finally, long referred to as near Addy and the Clan, politicians like Carlos Cardin and Achach Magaly, who at the right time, could move their people in one direction or another, either to the PRI to support Carlos Joaquin or to the PAN or PRD to favor Addy and others. If the PRI does not nominate a Joaquina, we could see a PAN-PRD alliance with Gustavo Ortega. And so the control of Quintana Roo by the Clan, would be accomplished. See what happens.
